Ken model name synonymous with pen drawings and lithographs of cityscapes Jakarta and the people who live within them. His work is exquisite and fine; a signature style that no one has been able to reproduce.
Ken, from Canada, has lived in Indonesia since 1988 and love for the country is clearly visible through his works. His recent article entitled Eviction Notice is a poignant reminder of encroaching human development on the environment and was created to raise awareness and support for animal rights organizations. This poster is one orangutan in the middle of a devastated tropical forest, holding an eviction notice in his hand.
The mobile display is currently on sale for Rp.100,000 (unframed) and 100% of proceeds will go to support animal Jakarta Network (JAAN), an NGO working hard to fight for animal rights in Jakarta Indonesia. JAAN is the group responsible for ending topeng monyet (masked monkeys) in Jakarta and are currently rehabilitating monkeys rescued before their release, among countless other achievements and animal rescue efforts.
