the word orangutan translates to "person of the forest" in Bahasa indonesia. These majestic primates have distinctive orange hair and are , highly intelligent beings. They are also increasingly under threat of smuggling.

The animals are poached for entertainment purposes and to go to the wildlife parks and zoos. In some areas, they are also hunted for their meat, a traditional practice in some indigenous cultures in Indonesia. Many baby orangutans have seen their mothers killed or were chained and mistreated until they are rescued by the illegal pet trade. And unfortunately, these intelligent beings are victims of habitat loss. 80% has disappeared over the past 20 years, reducing the orangutan population of Borneo simple 12000-15000

Dodo, a young baby orangutan who lives in the rehabilitation center Orangutan Wanariset Samboja Lestari, run by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (of BOSF), is one of nine orangutan adopted the BOSF. Dodo arrived at Samboja Lestari like so many others - orphans, without his mother. Under the supervision of BOSF, Dodo is now well on his way to get the help they need to find the good life he deserves, wild and free in the forest.

March 27, 2015 Swiss-Belhotel International Kalimantan launched a CSR program to support the activities of BOSF through fundraising campaigns. Beginning with a press conference, the day continued with the opening of stalls selling orangutan goods specially focused theme, created to support BOSF. The sale on the stands were t-shirts, mugs, pins, cloth bags, pillows and bracelets -. And proceeds go to BOSF to support Dodo

Participants at the launch were members of the press Balikpapan, Swiss-Belhotel general managers, sales and public relations Mangers; CEO BOSF Mr. Jamartin Sihite; Senior Advisor to BOSF, Jacqueline L. Sunderland-Groves; and coordinator of the collection of funds BOSF Ms Yeni Novitasari.

Although launched by the Swiss-Belhotel Balikpapan, the campaign will be extended to all group properties in Kalimantan and eventually worldwide. A very good response was also received two global brands, Quiksilver and Coca-Cola. Quiksilver currently working on designing a t-shirt to be sold in all stores Quiksilver Indonesia.

Area General Manager for Swiss-Belhotel International Kalimantan, Sylvain Crosses, explains: "Our desire to help this wonderful cause, BOSF, is immense.
