November 10 e , 2013, the first annual Day Clean Up Jakarta (CUJD) was held, bringing together 1,000 volunteers in 16 sites cleaning around Jakarta. Volunteers have made the Indonesian tradition of gotong royong picking up trash together and raising awareness of littering and the need for recycling in their city. This year, Jakarta Clean Up Day is set to be much larger, with about 5,000 volunteers around Jakarta get their hands dirty for a good cause.
CUJD 2014 will take place October 19 e approximately 30 sites throughout the city. The purpose of cleaning is to educate people about the harmful effects of litter, and in turn raise awareness of the importance of recycling. CUJD is supported by the proper motion of the city Aksi Bersih Jakarta Slank and ambassadors with the support and enthusiasm of the Acting Governor Ahok.
This campaign will be conducted by volunteers from Jakarta, composed of individuals, businesses, schools and organizations, Indonesians and expatriates. CUJD call these people their "Clean Heroes', and they will be picking up trash and separating their findings in bags of recyclable and non-recyclable as they clean 7:00 to 9:00 Sunday morning. Clean up the sites are designated by volunteers and approved by the team from the Jakarta Clean Up Day and are listed on the site, where information is recorded on how to reach each site. Sites managed by the schools are closed to students and members of each school.

Clean Up Heroes will use sugar bags reused Coca Cola Amatil, that vessels for transport the waste collected. Coca-Cola Amatil perform regular cleanings beach in Bali and were CUJD support since its birth in 2013. volunteers will be wearing gloves sponsored by Kärcher, a German cleaning company that recently cleaned Jakarta National monument , Monas.After cleaning activities in place, there will be an event after cleaning for volunteers, sponsors and affiliates clean up Day Jakarta. This event will serve as a platform for influential people to talk and discuss issues waste and trash with volunteers and members of the public. Like everything about Clean Up Day Jakarta, the three R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) will be performed, so no waste made during this event will be recycled or reused.
CUJD 2014 aims to bring many more communities than its 2013 event, and in doing so, they hope to increase awareness, to reach more people, change mindsets and encourage a positive attitude to the cleanliness of the city, nearly 10 million people call home.
