Bersih Nyok! is mass education and changing attitudes
Bersih Nyok! is a familiar name regarding environmental responsibilities in Jakarta. In December 2013, green initiatives and inspiring force joined with another community, Operasi Semut to launch Operasi Bersih Jakarta (Jakarta Operation Clean). also support are communities like Osoji Club, Bike To Work, Waste4Change and Clean Up Day Jakarta.
By Operasi Jakarta Bersih, Bersih Nyok! community launched a competition Rubbish Bin, in which 90 trash bin creative designs were submitted by citizens of Jakarta and finally classified by their functionality and design by an environmental specialist team. This contest was orchestrated in the hope that Jakarta will be filled with more of these creative and educational bins and its citizens will be more encouraged to dispose of their waste correctly in the trays. The winners received cash prizes and rare opportunity to have lunch with then Governor Joko Widodo, Acting Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Purnama and various environmental experts, such as former Minister of State for Population and the environment, Prof. DR. Emil Salim. Bersih Nyok! working diligently in changing citizens' attitudes with a dream that one day of trash would not be a problem.
