most people will be very surprised to learn that the world population of polar bears has declined by nearly 60 percent over the past 30 years. Studies conducted by the Research Institute of the polar fauna (PWRI) show that in 1985 there were more than 23,000 polar bears and today there are about 17,000. Research has also shown that the polar caps were down nearly 15 percent over the past 200 years, which means that the region is now only about 1.5 million square miles. Figures from the Global Climate Monitoring Institute (GCMI) also suggests that the global average temperature increased by a little less than five percent over the past 150 years and indications are that this trend will continue. Unless the global population becomes aware and change their behavior, GCMI think we could see an increase in average global temperature of up to 20 percent in the next 50 years. These figures are alarming, but what is more alarming is the fact that I have done everything and there is no such thing as PWRI or GCMI.
The truth is that there are polar bears today than 30 years ago. The population has indeed been falling, but research by WWF found that this was caused by a boom in the wolf population in the Arctic, and these more wolves were killing more polar bears than they had before, causing the number of polar bears to decrease. (Nobody counted the wolves, presumable because they are not white and fluffy and cute.) The authorities organized a slaughter of Arctic wolves and in a short time the natural balance has been restored and the bear community polar increased accordingly and is now back to normal. Research by the National Geographic also proved that the Arctic ice is now thicker than it ever was. It also covers a wider area than ever before when you factor in all the areas that are officially designated as geographically "polar".
Figures from the Meteorological Research Institute also established that, in real terms, when average global temperatures measured since records began in 1784, not only since the industrial revolution (like most promoters warming of the planet are) the overall global temperature actually decreased rather than increased. It is therefore not a surprise to you now to learn that all this paragraph is a complete nonsense and no facts or figures that I present in it are true (as far as I know).
The point I'm making is simple; if you read something that sounds authority and gives a lot of "facts and figures", it does not mean you have to accept the facts and figures at face value. I also make the point that there is always at least two sides to any argument and numbers can always be presented in a way they paint the exact picture of the author wants the reader to see. But the biggest point I am making is that if you use you will find very convincing arguments for and against almost everything.
However, as regards climate change, I really do not understand why anyone would pretend it is not real. So what if it is a hoax? I do not keep my own home because I am worried about the effect of its disgustingness could have on my neighbors for 200 years, I own guard because it makes my house a more pleasant place to live and that means all that it could last a little longer. (When I say "I", I mean my maid, of course).
The amount of natural resources available to us is obviously not infinite, so obviously we should use them sparingly as possible. Renewables are obviously as close to infinity as it is possible to get, so obviously we should use them as much as possible. I say "obviously" a lot there. The problem is that these things do not seem obvious to many people. I hope we can stop arguing about it and just accept a cleaner world is a better and more pleasant world, and certainly the cleanest and most enjoyable we keep the more it will last.
Or will it? Recent research by the World will not last longer if we take care Institute (TWWLLIWLAII) shows that ... Nah. I lost you now.
